June 30, 2011 is Social Media Day!! What are planning to do to celebrate? How about learning more about LinkedIn, the world’s largest professional network with over 100 million members, and donating to charity?!

Two friends of the show, social media experts and digital strategists, Ricardo McRae (http://www.ricardomcrae.com/) and Gloria Roheim (http://gloriaroheim.com/) are putting on a workshop, “Lunch, Laptops and LinkedIn” on June 30, 2011 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. inside the ING Direct Cafe Thompson Room in Toronto at 221 Yonge Street. The cost of the workshop is $50 per person and proceeds go to One Laptop Per Child to provide children in developing countries with a rugged, low-cost, low-power, connected laptop.

We recently interviewed Steve Byfield of Nyarai Cellars.

Steve just informed us that Nyarai Cellar’s 2010 Voignier tied for the gold medal in the Dry White Varietal category at the Ontario Wine Awards that was held two weeks ago. It is Ontario’s most important competition since it is run by Canada’s top vine critic, Tony Aspler. Congrats to Steve and Nyarai Cellars.
